Akesleran is a six-year-old Indonesian fintech startup that had raised two rounds of funding by the time it approached Skuad in June 2021.
It had ambitions to grow rapidly and scale its tech team. They set a high bar for hiring engineering talent to match their vision but were unable to find the right skilled engineers in Indonesia.
The immediate benefits were reduced time-to-hire and access to a high quality remote tech talent team, which accelerated akseleran’s product GTM timelines.
In the last 9-12 months , Akseleran has built a highly skilled remote tech team of 5 engineers in India and is on the lookout to add more full-time employees by the end of Dec 2022.
Skuad had to understand Akseleran’s hiring needs, practices and processes and team culture to attract the right set of candidates. We had to be aware of the tech stacks for which they needed talent, expected team size in the next 12 months (5-10 members), the in-house recruitment process and potential pain points.
We found candidates from various sources — vetted talent pool and talent portal (allremote.in), social job networks and a group of recruiters & agencies — to build a high-quality candidate funnel. All sourced candidates went through vetting exercises and an online assignment.
Processes like dedicated weekend drives, daily channel of communication (Slack), weekly updates, etc., helped reduce the challenge of geographical boundaries as we enable companies like Akseleran to recruit in a remote setting.
Once the candidate accepted the offer, we handled the entire employment process for these full-time employees of Akesleran. We were the Legal Employer in India (where Akseleran does not have a legal entity) and managed local compliance around payments, taxes and benefits efficiently.
